WHAT TO EXPECT FOR YOUR BOARDING STAY

  • VACCINATIONS — Please, please make sure you have the required and up-to-date vaccinations because we know how much your plans can rely on having pet care in order and by law we are unable to accept a cat without the required vaccinations. We will need vaccine documents BEFORE the day of the stay. You can upload them to your account or just text/email a picture to us. They must be up-to-date through the length of the stay and include FVRCP (or equivalent) and Rabies.

  • WE ARE HERE FOR YOU — You are not a burden. You can always get ahold of us via text (to the number you receive booking notifications from) or email for anything at all. We know what it’s like to be away from our babies and to trust strangers with them, but know that we are always right here for you if we can help easy some anxiety.

  • UPON ARRIVAL — When you arrive, just get the attention of one of our baristas and we will very quickly be on our way to help you get all checked in. We will make sure the litter box is full and food/water bowls are filled, we will put a name tag on any carriers and stow them away, set up the room to get all the furnishings just right for your cat, store additional food/belongings in their hallway basket, and communicate with you any specific needs and concerns for the cats as we fill out the chart that we will refer to during their stay. Please do not feel rushed at all during the process. Feel free to ask for as much help as you need and as much private time with your cat as you want to say goodbye.

  • DAILY UPDATES — We don't automatically provide daily updates but you are always welcome to check in with us and we’re happy to get back to you. We actually recommend the Live Webcam add-on for this, where you can always hop on and get a real-time look at your cat. Even if you didn’t select the Live Webcam when booking your stay, we can always add it later.

  • LIVE WEBCAM — If you have the Live Webcam add-on, please add the Reolink app to your phone (it has a blue background with a white “R”, at the time of writing this). For the easiest experience, please ensure our team has you all set up and logged in prior to leaving after drop-off. Relevant settings inside the app include: setting resolution to High, viewing playback/recordings, and filtering playback/recordings by motion event.

  • ADJUSTMENT PERIOD — For your information, and especially if you have the Live Webcam add-on, it is good to understand what the first couple of days may look like for your cat’s stay. Many cats are immediately confident upon arrival, but many also take a day or two to build their confidence in the new environment. The room has many options for them, including some lounging options down low, up high, and some tucked away locations where they can feel hidden if that is what brings them comfort. During the first day, we often expect to see them tucked away, but they usually come out at night to start exploring and building their confidence, and this sometimes continues for another day or two as we work to earn their trust. Rarely a particular cat may be especially shy and prefer to be hidden for the duration of the stay — it doesn’t provide exceptional Live Webcam viewing, but know that they are safe and comfortable and we are happy to send pictures on request. It is important to give them options so that they can find their own type of comfort no matter their personality. We give them space when they want space, work hard to earn their trust whenever they offer the opportunity, and always love them like our own.

  • SUPPLIES — We've got the essentials taken care of, so no need to bring anything specific unless you want to for them. We can provide our dry food (Purina ONE +Plus Sensitive Skin & Stomach) for them for $5/day but really recommend bringing their own food from home, as it is better on their stomachs and we know they’re not going to turn their nose to the flavor of it. Some things we recommend in addition to their own daily food is something that smells like home to bring them some extra comfort and their favorite toys. The room is yours and we're very accommodating to make it a special and comfortable stay for them.

  • FEEDING/MEDICATIONS — We will use the feeding and medication instructions added to the booking, but if you have very detailed instructions it can often be helpful for our Care Team if they are written out on a piece of paper that we can keep with their supplies and refer to.

  • IN CASE OF EMERGENCY — Please let us know if you have a preferred vet besides the one on the vaccine document. We don't anticipate needing them for anything, but it is a responsible thing to have on file should there be a medical emergency. We monitor health and behavioral changes very closely and make it a point to over-communicate anything we notice, no matter how likely insignificant. Providing exceptional care isn’t only doing everything we can do for a safe and comfortable stay, but it is also having the preparation in place to respond appropriately if the unexpected happens.

  • CHECK-IN/OUT TIMES — You are prompted to select a check-in and check-out time during your online booking, but anytime during Cat Cafe business hours is good with us — no pressure to stick to your selected time. Please be aware that Monday business hours are shorter and we must have everything completed prior to closing time.
